Q: How much does it cost?

A: $2,400 per person which includes access to all workshops, lodging, meals, and nightly sake tastings.

Q. Can you accommodate food allergies and food sensitivities within the menu for meals?

A. Unfortunately due to the size of the event, we will not be able to provide alternative meal options at this time. Contact us directly for specifics if you have a need and we can discuss with Chef Matsumoto.

Q. Do I need to bring bedding?

A. No. All bedding will be provided along with all the amenities of a simple hotel.

Q. Is there an option to take the course without having to purchase food and lodging?

A. Unfortunately, food has to be included due to the nature of catering for small groups and costs associated with the meals. However if you have somewhere else to stay that is close by, can arrive on time for classes and stay late for dinners, we can subtract the lodging costs from the programs pricing. Please contact Charlie for details 415.341.3131.

Q. Can I bring my pet?

A. Despite our lodging being dog friendly, the instructors have asked that people not bring pets as they could be a distraction and may not be familiar with the risks of moving beams, using chisels and general woodworking.

Q. What should I wear?

A. Bring layers. This time of year can be in the 80’s and sunny or raining and cold. Also, bring a swimsuit for the hot tub.

Q. Can we use the hot tub onsite?

A. Yes.

Q. Do I need to bring any tools?

A. No need to bring any of your own tools. However, having your own tools and practicing with ones that you will use will allow you to work more precisely. If you have chisels, planes, Japanese pull saws, measuring, marking and layout tools that you already use and are familiar with, feel free to bring them.
