Yes, we are on a county water system which means that the county is responsible for testing and blending the water to minimize any impurities. All cabins have filtered water available: in the larger cabins the filtered water is at the kitchen or bathroom sink. For the micro cabins filtered water is in each bathroom next to the sink closest to the door.

What is your pet policy?

We are dog lovers and dog owners here! First off, we only allow dogs (no cats or other pets). Dogs must be on leash at all times near the cabins and the Lodge/pool. If you leave the property you must take your dog with you or find a dog sitter (we have a list of options below). Owners must pick up after their dogs in the cabin area.

Dogs absolutely cannot be on beds or couches. We do not charge an extra fee for dogs but we will charge a fee if there is dog hair on the bed as this typically ruins the blanket/duvet cover. Dogs can be off leash on the old golf course.

Can we leave our dog in our cabin while we are away from Sierra Meadows?

Unfortunately, no. Though it is rare, the power does sometimes go out here and we cannot be responsible for pets left alone in cabins. You can leave your dog in your cabin if you are on the property (riding bikes or at the pool, for example).

If you need someone to take care of your dog while you are out, we highly recommend our friend & neighbor Kim Owens. Kim is a certified dog trainer, certified in canine CPR and runs the foster program for the local SPCA. You can reach her at 714.785.6264 or at kim.owens@sti.net. Kim lives here in Ahwahnee, just a few miles away.
